Allison was discovered after Hurricane Harvey, and taken in by HPA. She was in very bad shape - skinny, diabetic, and barely alive. HPA took her in and started treating her. After a couple weeks, it became evident she wasnt thriving, and was beginning to sink into a deep depression. Her foster family stepped in, and endeavored to help. She was put on a strict high protein, low fat, low carb diet to help her gain weight, and get over the diabetes. After painstakingly monitoring her progress and food, and loving her and nursing her back to health, her diabetes went into remission, she gained weight, and her coat began to shine again. Now, she is a happy, still playful, 10yr old female declawed cat ready for her forever home. She loves sleeping in chairs, especially if they include a nice sun beam. She likes to stay in her preferred "zones" of the house, and doesnt wander too far. While she is used to being around other big dogs, cats, and children in her current foster home, she would prefer to be the only cat (or close to) in her future home. She is very talkative (mostly when shes hungry) and will let you know when she feels its time to be fed. Her favorite foods are Blue Buffalo Salmon and Chicken recipe moist canned food. She loves a good chin rub or face scratch, and while she isnt much for lap time, or getting on furniture, shell join you for a short while to get her attention fix.
