Stanley Appaloosa Senior - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Houston, Texas

Stanley is a sweet, older, gaited Appaloosa gelding ready for his retirement home! Stanley came to us as a displaced animal from Hurricane Harvey. He was not claimed by his owners so he is looking for his new family! He was severely underweight when we got him, but despite his age, he put the weight back on pretty quickly. Even after gaining weight, and prior to his castration, he had a relativity quiet and calm demeanor. Stanley is now a very sweet gelding and would likely make a good horse for children or grandchildren to learn to care for.Stanley stands quietly for grooming, baths, vet and farrier work. He is a gentleman to walk and trailers well. He takes tack without any issues and is likely broke to ride. He did get a little sassy when we put some weight on the saddle, so he may need a refresher. However, given his age, we would prefer him to go to a home that has little to no intention of riding him. He is also a smaller horse, standing only 13.3 hands and is of narrow build. If you're looking for a family horse to just love on and teach young children how to care for a horse, Stanley may be a good fit for your family! Please submit your application today to come see him!**Horses can be seen by appointment only following review and approval of an equine and farm animal adoption application. If you are interested in visiting this or other horses, please submit a completed application and we will contact you by e-mail as soon as possible. All horses are up to date on vaccinations and vet work. Please note that due to changes in policy, at this time horses are no longer ridden.
